Committee announces EIT finalists
The Excellence-in-Teaching Committee announced on Feb. 12 the semi-finalists for the 2017 Excellence in Teaching awards. Nominees are full-time and part-time faculty members who have made exceptional contributions in the classroom and beyond at Central Connecticut State University.
Full-time semi-finalists are Charles Button, Geography; Maria Lourdes Casas, Modern Languages; Michele Dischino, Technology & Engineering Education; James French, Literacy, Elementary, & Early Childhood Education; Antonio Garcia-Lozada, Modern Languages; Julia Kara-Soteriou, Literacy, Elementary, & Early Childhood Education; Frederic Latour, Mathematical Sciences; and Kate McGrath, History.
Part-time semi-finalists are Mitchell Charkiewicz, Economics; Cathleen Donahue, Management Information Systems; Alexandra Maravel, History; and Christopher Montes, Psychological Science.
The EIT Committee will begin interviewing the semi-finalists this month and then select the finalists. Once the finalists in each category have be chosen, finalists and the Honor Roll will be announced. At that time the details about Faculty Day, Thursday, April 19, will be announced.
