Commencement 2019

What you need to know

To participate in CCSU’s Commencement Exercises, students must be attired in an appropriate cap and gown. If you are eligible to participate in the ceremony, you will receive an email from "Commencement Information" which will contain a link to the order form.

Bachelor’s regalia, including cap, gown, and ’19 tassel will cost $50.

The only cords permitted to be worn at the ceremony are University-sanctioned Honor Societies and University Honors (Summa, Magna, and Cum Laude).

For stoles, please check the guidelines.

If you do not need to order regalia, we still need to know that you will be participating in the ceremony, so please follow the link you received in the email from "Commencement Information."

Regalia

To participate in CCSU’s Commencement Exercises, students must be attired in an appropriate cap and gown. If you are eligible to participate in the ceremony, you will receive an email from "Commencement Information" which will contain a link to the order form, or, if you own your own regalia, a link to RSVP if you will be participating in the ceremony. If you have your own regalia, the deadline to register is midnight Monday, May 6, 2019.

Bachelor’s regalia, including cap, gown, and ’19 tassel will cost $50.

Be forewarned, you are responsible for bringing your regalia to the XL Center.

Ordering Regalia

Online: Please note that credit cards will be the only accepted form of payment.

Ordering Deadlines:
Wednesday, April 10, 2019 (to avoid late fee)
Sunday, April 21, 2019 (with a $25 late fee) – no order will be accepted after this day.

Portrait Sittings

At the pickup, Grad Images will be in Alumni Hall offering you, for free, the opportunity to take a formal portrait. You may choose a solo portrait, or you can invite family and/or friends to pose with you. Grad Images is CCSU’s official commencement photographer and will also be taking photos at the ceremony.

Cap & Gown Pickup

Regalia pickup will take place in Alumni Hall which is located inside the Student Center. To avoid long lines, we encourage you to show up on the day scheduled for your school (though we realize this isn’t always possible).

In addition to your regalia, you will receive specific line-up instructions for the ceremony processional and a name card. If your name is challenging to pronounce, you may phonetically spell your name on the card to assist the commencement ceremony reader. Please remember to bring your name card with you to the ceremony.
