The university held a dedication ceremony for the new Dr. Antone B. Capitao Biomechanics Laboratory Classroom on Oct. 3. Capitao established a fund that will enable the Biomechanics Laboratory Classroom in the School of Education and Professional Studies to meet its growing equipment needs. In addition, funds will be allocated to support equipment purchases for Physical Education Skills coursework.

Dr. Capitao is a professor emeritus of Physical Education and Human Performance and served on the CCSU faculty from 1971 until his retirement in 2014. During his tenure at CCSU, Dr. Capitao taught 31 different courses and launched several of them, including undergraduate and graduate sport psychology courses and tumbling and gymnastics classes.
