Polish president visits CCSU
President of Poland Andrezj Duda and his wife, First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda, traveled to New Britain on Sept. 22 during their annual visit to the United States. President Duda has made it an ongoing initiative to visit significant Polish-American communities and academic institutions that teach and preserve Polish heritage when he is traveling abroad. He is the first sitting Polish president to visit the City of New Britain.
Duda’s itinerary included a tour of Little Poland, a service at Holy Cross Church, a speech at Walnut Hill Park, and a stop at CCSU. The first couple met with President Zulma R. Toro and Polish Studies faculty members and students at the Burritt Library, which houses the Connecticut Polish American Archives.
