Leah S. Glaser received her B.A. in history from Tufts University in 1992. She received her M.A. in public history and Ph.D. in history from Arizona State University in 1996 and 2002 respectively. Prior to her Fall 2006 arrival at CCSU, she taught at Quinnipiac University, Arizona State University, and in the Maricopa County Community Colleges. Her public history experience includes work with the New Haven Preservation Trust, Virginia Center for Digital History, the United States Bureau of Reclamation, and the National Park Service.

Her teaching interests include public history, historic preservation, and the American West. In 2012, she received both the University-wide and CSU-wide Norton Mezvinsky Research Awards. Her current research and service interests include exploring the relationship between the field of public history and issues of environmental sustainability as applicable to both today and in the past. She co-chaired the Program Committee of the 2014 conference of the National Council for Public History with the theme: "Sustainable Public History" and chairs the NCPH task force on the issue.
