Welcome to my faculty biography page. I am an assistant professor of educational leadership, teaching in the sixth year program for students pursuing the 092 certification and in the Ed.D. in educational leadership program. I teach courses in instructional leadership and supervise interns. I also am a dissertation advisor for several of our doctoral students.

Away from campus, I serve as a scorer for the CT Administrator Test (CAT). I have facilitated professonal development in schools throughout the area on topics such as differentiation, student self-assessment, peer feedback, and early childhood math strategies. I have mentored high school students as they conduct their own research projects.

My philosophy of teaching is shaped by social constructivist theories. I believe learners construct their own knowledge, making connections by engaging with materials and with others while being guided by a more knowledgeable other. Thus, students in my classroom are active learners. Additionally, as I am often teaching courses about good teaching practices, I design my classes so students can learn the content while experiencing current instructional models. This allows my students to consider course content from the student's, the teacher's, and the leader's perspectives.
