Dr. Cara Mulcahy is a Professor in the Department of Literacy, Elementary, and Early Childhood Education. Her areas of interest include critical literacy, disciplinary literacy, Readers'/ Writer's Workshop, adolescent literature and children's literature. Dr. Mulcahy has published two books: Marginalized Ltieracies: Critical Literacy in the Language Arts Classroom (2010) and Pedagogy, Praxis and Purpose in Education (2015), coauthored with Donal E. Mulcahy and Daniel G. Mulcahy
Prior to working at Central Connecticut State University Dr. Mulcahy was a middle school language arts and social studies teacher.
