Accessing Campus Computers Remotely

CCSU has made some specialized software available for students and faculty to access remotely, from off-campus.  This software is installed on computers that reside on campus.  Both Windows and Apple/Mac software is available and there is a different process for each of these environments. 

How to Access:

There are currently four environments available for Windows software: "Computer Science", "General Lab", "Engineering, Science, Technology", and "Geography Lab".  School of Business software is available from the General Lab. Click here to get instructions for accessing the Windows Desktop environments through the Citrix Server (apps.ccsu.edu) using a Mac or Windows PC. Special Note for Mac users accessing the Windows environment: The Safari browser works best with the Citrix environment. 

There is currently one environment available for Apple/Mac software. Click on your environment below to get instructions for accessing the Apple/Mac environment, using a software application called Splashtop. Click here for a list of software available in the Apple/Splashtop environment.

How to Request:

Faculty looking to request a software application to be installed in the Remote Computing Environment will need to fill out a software Installation request form.

Requesting Software Installations: 

  1. Go to www.ccsu.edu/it and click on Service and Equipment Requests. 
  2. Login with email address and password.
  3. Search for "Software Installation".
  4. Complete the form; write in the Comments box which remote environment (Windows or PC) to install the sofware. Click Review & Submit; confirm the information and click Submit.
