New Student Programs

Orientation

Greetings New Students, Family and Friends

Congratulations on your admission to Central Connecticut State University! The Office of New Student Programs is thrilled to announce our Summer Orientation Program for the Summer of 2021! This year, our Orientation program will be delivered in a hybrid format, with part 1 being online orientation modules and part 2 being an in-person *student only* Orientation program.

New First Year Students:Please check your CCSU email frequently. You should have received information from CCSU Orientation, from your Academic Dean, and from Advising, which consists of details about orientation, advising, your Fall schedules, and so much more. See First Year Students page for more information, as well as our Friends/Family page for information about Virtual Family Orientation.

Transfer Students: We also ask that Transfer students check their emails regularly. The office of new student programs has sent out important information about Transfer Student Orientation- parts 1 & 2. See Transfer Students page for more information, as well as our Friends/Family page for information about Virtual Family Orientation

All new First Year students, please check to see that you have done the following:

  1. Academic Profile: The link was in an email from your Dean. If you cannot locate the link, email CCSUAdvising@ccsu.edu
  2. Set up your BlueNet Account. Once you create your Bluenet account, you will be granted access to your CCSU Office 365 email account, WebCentral-Banner Web, and Blackboard Learn. So, if you have not already done so, please set up your Bluenet account now.
  3. Writing Placement Exam: This exam helps students determine which introductory writing class will help them to be most successful. Click here for more information on the Writing Placement Exam. If needed, you will receive an invitation to take this exam.
  4. Math Placement Exam:If you feel that your math skills and knowledge are not reflected in your SAT/ACT scores, you may opt to take the Math Placement Exam. If you do not have SAT/ACT scores on file with the Office of Admissions, you will need to take the exam before being placed in a Math class. Schedule your Math Placement Exam. (If you’d like, you can still have test scores sent to us at admissions@ccsu.edu)
