Program Description

Offers advanced study in language, culture, and literature. Specializations in Italian, Spanish, Italian or Spanish for Certified Teachers, and an Inter-University Master's in Spanish Language and Hispanic Culture in conjunction with University of Salamanca (students study in Spain for part of the degree requirements).

Learning Outcomes

  1. Conduct research in different areas of the field of Modern Languages: literature, culture, pedagogy, and applied linguistics.

  2. Use the target language to write about major works in Italian, Spanish or Spanish American literature.

  3. Use the target language to write about topics related to the cultures of Italy, Spain or Spanish America.

  4. Use the target language to analyze Italian or Spanish grammar as well as to analyze the target language structure.
